Dr. Jeffrey H. Berkowitz, DDS
general dentist
I grew up in Utica, NY where my dad was a general dentist. My dad truly enjoyed his profession. As a kid, I spent a lot of time in his office, a small but warm professional space where staff and patients were treated like family.
Looking forward to my own professional career, I wanted to build onto my dad’s experience. Joining a group was the key. Group practice at Timberlane Adult Dentistry and Periodontics offers an unprecedented level of collaboration. Having a team of general dentists and periodontists all under one roof dramatically improves our communication and efficiency. This is a tremendous convenience that ultimately leads to great outcomes and happy patients.
Like my dad, I enjoy going to work every day. I like talking to my patients and seeing how I can help. Everyone has a unique story and set of challenges. My team and I particularly enjoy helping patients manage their dental anxiety. Many of our patients have avoided dental care for years due to fear. It is gratifying when we are able to help these patients work through their anxiety and restore their dental health.
Education and Continuing Education
I received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Hobart College in Geneva, NY in 1989; graduated from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1994; and completed a general practice residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital in 1995.
A lifetime of learning is the key to keeping up to date with dental technology and continuing education is my passion. For decades, I have served on the Vermont State Dental Society Committee for Continuing Education.

Outside the Office
I have enjoyed living in Vermont for more than 30 years. I currently live in Burlington with my wife Kristin. We have three adult children: Emma, Jerry and William. Running is my thing; I run outside all four seasons. My family likes to keep busy outdoors, too. We balance our time between the mountains and the lake with a passion for skiing, cycling and hiking.
