Dr. Liana Webber, DDS, MSc, PhD

periodontist

When I was little, my sister and I used to pretend to be dentists and patients, and brushing teeth quickly became one of our favorite activities. As the years went by, my passion for dentistry and my deep desire to help others led me to pursue a career in this field, just like my sister. Now, we are both dentists.

I strongly believe in the transformative power of a smile and how it can brighten someone's day. Understanding that a healthy smile starts with healthy gums, I found my true calling in the field of Periodontics. My mission is to preserve teeth whenever possible, but I am equally fascinated by the incredible potential to restore smiles using dental implants.

Education and Continuing Education

I earned my DDS in 2013 from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil, dedicating my early career to both research and private practice. In 2015, I completed a Master’s in Oral Pathology, followed by a Ph.D. in the same field in 2018. My research led me to the University of Michigan, where I later completed a dual Periodontics Residency and Master’s program, graduating in 2023.

In 2024, I achieved board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology after passing the qualifying and oral examinations. Maintaining this certification requires ongoing continuing education and periodic re-examination, reflecting my commitment to the highest standards of patient care, lifelong learning, and staying at the forefront of advances in periodontics.

Outside the Office

As a Brazilian, I grew up experiencing hot and humid summers and mild winters. However, living in Vermont has given me the opportunity to truly appreciate the beauty of the four seasons and explore nature. When I am not working, I enjoy cycling, hiking or running.
